Cape Cod + Quilts + Snowy Owl + Quilts
Why is it still snowing & super cold in Kittery, Maine?! Another 3″ of snow today. This month has certainly been in like a lion.
The past weekend, though, was certainly a welcome respite from all this polar vortex & snow. 50 degrees, no wind, and sunshine on the glorious Cape Cod shore with all the quilting McGrath women.
Madre, sister T and myself got together to pull together a chevron quilt. Madre taught T how to quilt, from cutting the squares, to all the ironing, and then figuring out the layout on the floor.
On Saturday, we three met up with Auntie Kim at Tumbleweed Quilts in West Barnstable. They carried all the fabric from Fabricworm and Hawthorne Threads that I’ve been ogling!
On the last day, we moved all of our squares and equipment to Auntie Kim’s beautiful house in Sandwich, MA. Uncle Jim set up all three of our sewing machines at the counter, and collectively, we worked on three separate quilts! Grammy would have loved it!
Awesome pictures! Thanks for documenting this epic weekend! Love you! Mom
